Thorncliffe Park Day Care Centre was established in 1969 and has since earned a reputation for excellence. We provide creative and enriched learning opportunities for infants to children of up to 10 years.
Each child that enrolls in Thorncliffe Park Day Care Centre is seen as competent and capable individuals. We will work together to ensure that their experiences are positive and reflects "How Does Learning Happen." In order to do that, we believe that it is important for us to provide a place where they feel safe, nurtured, and loved. We offer the opportunity for your child to develop and master their skills in all areas of his or her early stages of growth (ie physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cognitive). We respect their individual needs to develop at their own pace and in their own style, allowing them to experience the joy and satisfaction that positive learning creates.
Thorncliffe Park Day Care Centre provides continuous creative and enriched learning opportunities for all children, from infancy to School Age. Our mission is to incorporate How Does Learning Happen into our daily activities, allowing children to learn through play, using the world as their playground. The natural environment will aid in the developmental program as children meet their milestones.
Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years is a professional learning resource guide about learning through relationships for those working with young children and families. It is intended to support pedagogy and curriculum/program development in early years programs. There are four foundations to How Does Learning Happen which is important for children to grow and flourish: Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement, and Expression.
These foundations, or ways of being, are a vision for
all children’s future potential and a view of what they should
experience each and every day. These four foundations apply
regardless of age, ability, culture, language, geography, or setting. They are conditions that children naturally seek for themselves.
